La peticionaria, que no especifica dónde desapareció su marido, explica en la misiva que el día 20 de Agosto de 1915 recibió una carta en la que se le comunicaba que el soldado Giovanni Gualandi había sido levemente herido. Desde entonces no tuvo más noticias acerca de su estado y, aunque un tiempo después le informaron de que su esposo estaba en el hospital, las autoridades a las que preguntó le daban por desaparecido.
Ni en la ficha normalizada de la Oficina ni en la del fichero onomástico escribieron el nombre del militar, únicamente el apellido.
