Contiene 94 páginas, de las que, a 83, se han adherido fotografías en soporte de papel albúmina, "de los techos pintados al fresco por Mengs, Tiepolo, Bayeu, López, etc. y de los mejores cuadros, estatuas y muebles de valor artístico que encierra el Regio Alcázar, con la descripción de los aposentos, y notabilidades artísticas que los ejecutaron".
En página de respeto, el autor de las fotografías, José Súarez Robles se dirige al rey Amadeo de Saboya, expresando que "Joya riquísima por las artísticas preciosidades que contiene, es el Palacio que V.M. habita, preciosidades que al cristal he trasladado con la fidelidad que la fotografía me ha permitido." Para más adelante solicitar la protección real para la publicación.
