Pese a que el peticionario no especifica dónde desaparece el soldado Domenico Madaio, por coincidencia con otros militares de su mismo regimiento se deduce que su rastro se perdería en el Trentino.
Tanto en la ficha onomástica como en la normalizada se escribió como lugar de desaparición, por error, "Cattaglia", que no existe, por confusión con la frase de la carta en la que se hacía alusión a que el soldado había estado siempre en el frente de batalla: "ha combattuto sempre al fronte di battaglia".
