History
Fue un sacerdote, escritor y musicólogo español.
Realizó sus estudios en el Seminario Conciliar de Cádiz y, tras aprobar oposiciones, inició su carrera eclesiástica como organista y maestro de capilla de diversas catedrales: Badajoz (1857), donde fue ordenado sacerdote, Sevilla (1863), Toledo (1868) y, finalmente, en el Monasterio de la Encarnación de Madrid (1871), donde pasó el resto de su vida hasta su muerte en 1910. En 1900 fue elegido integrante de la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando.
